Time for Thai

I had to do some research on Thai culture for a colleague at work because we have a large production facility in Thailand and thought I would share some of my most interesting findings. For the first time in a looong time I’ll actually be able to share some information that relates to the title of my blog!

Thailand is an Asian country that has been in the news lately. Between the current coup d’etat between the now former Prime Minster and the nation’s military, to the confession of John Mark Karr in August, and more tragically, the devastating tsunami that struck the country on December 26, 2004, the country has seen its share of publicity.

And now for the culture. The most interesting site that I came across wasn’t the Do’s and Don’ts list, or even the Guide to Thailand, but the site called Thailand Life. Here you’ll find everything you ever wanted to know about how a real person in Thailand lives. Gor has been writing this blog for 7 years now and started when he was 12 years old. I find this information far more valuable than the other material because you gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the Thai culture.

One of the images that always strikes me when I think about Thailand isn’t the bustling neon city of Bangkok, but that scene in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason when she’s on shrooms wading through the water on a beach in Phuket blubbering on about how beautiful everything is. Hahahah it’s sooo funny. I love it. But seriously, it looks amazingly beautiful and I’d love to visit!
