Fluffy

Nothing is more tempting to me than a fluffy bed. When I came across these fine specimens I just had to share.

I found these Ashley Goforth examples via a favorite blog of mine, House of Turquoise.

My bed suddenly needs a makeover......

East Coast Blizzard of 2010

It seems as though the Blizzard of 2010 is finally coming to a close. I'm still bitter and sore over the massive shoveling job we had to complete just so our driveway couldn't hold us hostage anymore. Not to mention the fact that it was snowing and blowing the entire time! I want my vacation day back!!

Yesterday, as the storm was starting, we had just arrived home from visiting Matt's parents so got a chance to settle in and enjoy being snowed in for the night. Then, around 12:30 a.m. we lost power and went to bed with heaps of blankets since no power=no heat! Luckily, the power came back on at 5:30 a.m. and by that time the temperature had only dipped to 58 degrees in our bedroom.

We woke up to so much snow! Somewhere around 16.5 inches. We're just grateful that the power and heat came back on and we could stay warm before heading out to shovel all afternoon. In fact, I think I'm still defrosting!

Merry Christmas!

Well, it looks like I only made it to Day 17 on Things I Love this year. Maybe next year I'll reach the full 25!

Regardless, Christmas Day is now over and I hope you got everything you wished for! My favorite present was a complete surprise, and it's hard to surprise me! I walked into my mom's house, scoped out the tree, then walked into the dining room to see my grandparents had decided to make a last minute trip from Florida to Rhode Island to celebrate Christmas with us! Such a treat!

Things I Love - Day 17

Source

My interest in Yoga actually began thanks to my husband. At the time, he was training for his first marathon and having some mobility issues, and resulting injuries. He received the recommendation from some runners to try Vinyasa heated yoga at a local Yoga studio called Raffa Yoga in Cranston, RI. He went to the first class without me, absolutely loved it and begged me to join him next time. I warily accepted, knowing that if it was something athletic that his ultimate type A personality liked then I was definitely going to be in trouble.

At the first class I felt great. The heat was nice on a damp March evening. I felt proud of myself that I could keep up with the class, be so flexible, and fumble around with the poses. It wasn't until the next day that I realized how little my body actually understood about its own limits! Let's just say that since that day I have entered my practice with much more caution and every yoga session is a journey to see how far I can push my limits.

Regardless, yoga give me a workout like nothing else I've tried. It's hard to explain, but it's more about how you feel after the session. The thing I love most is the calmness and satisfaction felt after each session. I can honestly say that I've felt this after every session. It makes the pain and discomfort worth it when you finally fall into Savasana, or Corpse pose. Best feeling in the world!! Love it!

Things I Love - Day 16

For Day 16 I've invited my jet-setting BFF to create her interpretation of Christmas in Germany via Polyvore. Jen just married her German sweetheart in September and is now spending her 4th? year living in Germany, making her an American living in Germany expert.
