2008 Resolutions 2.0

As we kick off 2008, I've come to realize a few things about the process of making and keeping resolutions. Other than the obvious- keeping resolutions is always much harder than making resolutions- I've come to realize that if it doesn't come in the form of a widget, interactive website, or something I can add to my Netvibes/Google homepage, it's not going to change my behavior. Because of this fact, I give you my 2008 New Year's Resolutions courtesy of Web 2.0.

1. Realize that I can't afford this Rock and Roll lifestyle and start managing my money.
Enter Mint. A website that will automatically manage your money online after you securely enter in the information to your online bank and credit card accounts. I first discovered this service from an article in Fast Company so I can trust that it's legit. Article.

2. Keep in better touch with my friends.
Now that I'm in my post-college days it's so much harder to keep track of my friends. Especially when you have friends that feel the need to jet all over the globe and settle in such random places as Germany and Tonga (although I can now say that this particular friend is back in the US). My solution to this resolution? Facebook of course! If I can't swing the actual face-to-face contact, save for the holidays, this will have to be the next best thing. I'm not much of a Myspace user anymore because it got too creepy, but I'll keep the account for at least 2008 because I have some friends who are only found there.

3. Network more.
Network, network. That's always what recent college grads hear when advice is being given out. Now, I can manage that networking on sites like LinkedIn or for my industry (Communications/PR) specifically MyRagan.com I really liked LinkedIn because it gave me a way to keep in touch with former classmates, as well as co-workers who would never set foot into the likes of Facebook.

Ok, I think 3 is a good number to start with. Who knows, if I'm successful I'll add some more next year! If you have any solutions to resolutions that can be found online let me know!
